 Thirty 5th grade classes involved in the
Kids do Ecology program participated in a beach clean up along the beaches of Santa Barbara, CA. Instead of
just picking up all the trash they could find and throwing it away, they decided to make a record of all the
trash they cleaned off the beach so that they could learn more about it.
The data from these field trips can be used to interactively learn more about using data tables, graphing data from
a table, and understanding different graph types.
